Orange you glad that Orange Bird has photo opportunities throughout Walt Disney World? Although a more obscure character in Disney history, Orange Bird has seen a recent revitalization in the Disney Parks, which has led to more frequent appearances in merchandise and park art in recent years. So if you are in need of some orange-inal photo ops on your upcoming Disney vacation, be sure to check out these Orange Bird photo spots that get the peel of approval! After all, photos at any of these locations are sure to be a “cutie”!
Who is Orange Bird?
Orange Bird was created in 1969 by Disney in partnership with the Florida Citrus Commission to help promote Florida citrus. In return, the Florida Citrus Commission sponsored the Tropical Serenade attraction (now called Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room). This cute character was then publicly debuted at a press event in 1971, just a few months before the opening of Walt Disney World. After Orange Bird’s debut, he was a character that guests could meet at Magic Kingdom, with Florida Citrus Commission’s sponsorship of the attraction further emphasized by the citrus products available at Sunshine Tree Terrace. Orange Bird not only appeared in the parks, but in a record and a 1980 film, making Orange Bird quite a star in Walt Disney World’s early years!
However, after the partnership ended in 1987, Orange Bird all but disappeared, only recently returning to Walt Disney World in 2012. This revitalization has brought Orange Bird back to the Disney Parks in many ways, including in merchandise, murals, signage, and more.

Where to Find Orange Bird Photo Spots at Walt Disney World
Due to Orange Bird’s revitalization over the past decade, there have been an increasing amount of Orange Bird additions to the Disney Parks throughout recent years. This section covers five Orange Bird photo spots that can be found at Walt Disney World in Florida.
Photo Spot 1: Orange Bird Disney Springs Mural
Location: Next to Erin McKenna’s Bakery in The Landing at Disney Springs
Perhaps the most famous of Orange Bird’s appearances at Walt Disney World, this Orange Bird mural reads “Famous Florida Citrus” with the tagline “grown in the Florida Sunshine from spring fed groves”. This mural was added in September 2019 and according to the Disney Parks Blog, took a week to hand paint. This gorgeous Orange Bird mural is one of the popular Instagram walls of Disney and can be found next to Erin McKenna’s Bakery (near Paddlefish and The Boathouse) at Disney Springs.

It is important to note that this Orange Bird mural is quite large and runs along a main walkway, so for photos you will either have to photograph the mural at an angle or have the photographer step back quite aways and wait for other guests to pass before taking photos in order to get the entire mural in frame. Either way, this Orange Bird mural is an absolutely cutie for photos!
Photo Spot 2: Orange Bird with Dole Whip Mural
Location: Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland, Magic Kingdom
In March 2021, Disney added an extra touch of magic to Adventureland in Magic Kingdom with the addition of an Orange Bird mural at Sunshine Tree Terrace. Depicting Orange Bird holding a Dole Whip with an orange thought bubble (which is how Orange Bird communicates!), this mural is too cute not to visit on a trip to the Magic Kingdom! This Orange Bird mural is located on the side of Sunshine Tree Terrace next to Skipper Canteen in Adventureland.

Photo Spot 3: Orange Bird Store Display
Location: Marketplace Co-Op at Disney Springs
Orange Bird has flown in for a store display at Marketplace Co-op at Disney Springs! Towards the back of the store is a display with Orange Bird.
This used to be at the front of the store and was more of a photo op (which included an Orange Bird statue, crates of oranges, a green foliage background, and a neon “Hello Sunshine!” sign), but this is still a cute photo spot!
Photo Spot 4: Orange Bird Since 1971 Mural
Location: World of Disney at Disney Springs
Although not as well known as the Orange Bird murals located next to Erin McKenna’s Bakery and Adventureland, there is actually a third Orange Bird mural at Walt Disney World! This Orange Bird mural is located inside of World of Disney at Disney Springs and takes on more of a faded look against the interior brickwork. This mural, which depicts Orange Bird with the text “Since 1971” can be found in a corner near the Disney Munchlings display*. (*The display is subject to change.)
Photo Spot 5: Orange Bird Magic Shot
Location: Various locations throughout Magic Kingdom and EPCOT
Although this photo opportunity is only available with the assistance of a PhotoPass photographer, it is sure to be a winner! The Orange Bird PhotoPass Magic Shot is advertised as being available in Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, but a PhotoPass photographer also helped me do it at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. For this Orange Bird Magic Shot, just ask a PhotoPass photographer if they have it available and they will help you take it (or guide you to where it can be done)!

Location: Outside of Disney PhotoPass Studio at Disney Springs
This mural outside of Disney PhotoPass Studio at Disney Springs takes on a vintage-style postcard look with the text “Greetings from Disney Springs” and is filled with oranges and citrus trees! If you’re looking for an orange-related photo spot that isn’t Orange Bird, this mural is perhaps the best spot at Walt Disney World!
Photo Spot 2: Anaheim Produce Stand
Location: Sunset Boulevard at Hollywood Studios
For another orange-related photo spot that is not Orange Bird, be sure to check out the Anaheim Produce stand along Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Studios! Here, you can find an orange in the stand’s logo, along with crates of oranges in the stand. However, this photo spot can be a bit more difficult due to the placement of the orange crates and its active use as a quick-service location.
Photo Spot 3: Sunshine State Oranges Mural
Location: World of Disney at Disney Springs
Across the room from the “Orange Bird Since 1971” mural (located within World of Disney) is another orange-related mural with a faded look. This mural reads “Sunshine State Oranges” and is located on the brick wall in the headwear section.
